Community Relations the Winner in World United Friendly with Community Team

A cross community North Belfast Community Football Team beat a World United Eleven three goals to one in an exciting game at the Danny Blanchflower stadium in East Belfast on Sunday 8th March.

The North Belfast Community Team is a cross community group supported by the PSNI that use the sport of Football as a hook to challenge sectarianism and promote respect for diversity.

The World United Football Team is a Belfast based team who also use the sport of Football to promote respect for diversity. World United fielded Players from Portugal, Zimbabwe, Iran, Brazil and the Ivory Coast playing alongside local Players from Northern Ireland. World United provide a network of support for people new to Northern Ireland with an interest in Football (check out www.worldunitedni.co.uk ).

In an exciting game of Football the North Belfast Community Team controlled the game from the start and ran out easy winners with three well taken goals all from close range. World United scored a late consolation goal when Raymond Katanga executed a skillful drive into the top corner from the edge of the box leaving the visiting Goalkeeper with no chance.
